new
Cardiovascular
Action
Sport
to
West
Michigan
on
June
2nd,
2012
at
Millennium
Park
in
Grand
Rapids,
MI.
The
IDSA
is
a
non-‐profit
organization
that
governs
Distance
Skateboarding
events
worldwide,
insures
commuter
skateboarders
+
provides
structure
for
the
maturing
sport.
Sponsorship
by
the
IDSA
for
the
event
in
Grand
Rapids,
Michigan
offers
participant
insurance,
venue
insurance,
medical
support
+
international
recognition
and
participation.
Longboard
skateboarding
is
the
#1
growing
Action
Sport
in
the
world
claiming
a
larger
market
share
than
regular
skateboards
according
to
2011
industry
sales
reports.
Sanctioned
longboard
events
are
a
catalyst
for
tremendous
sport
growth,
awareness,
and
exposure
of
various
skate
disciplines
like
Push
Racing,
Downhill,
Free-‐Ride,
Slalom
and
Freestyle
Skateboarding.
Grand
Rapids,
Michigan
is

Rapid
Movement
is
a
timed
distance
race,
each
participant
will
wear
a
Jaguar
timing
chip
to
monitor
individual
progress.
Officials
will
honor
World
Record
achievements
in
1-‐mile,
3-‐mile,
Half-‐Marathon
and
Marathon
distances.
Prizes
will
be
awarded
by
our
sponsors
per
age
division
and
rank.
This
event
is
the
1st
of
it’s
caliber
in
the
state
of
Michigan
and
will
attract
some
of
the
best
distance
skateboard
athletes
from
around
the
world.
